Prince Charles (Duke of Rothesay) attended the Mey Highland Games.  He officiated at the final completion, a tug of war, and watched pipe bands and highland dancers perform.

Prince William and Prince Harry took part in the Audi Polo Challenge, a charity polo match, in Colsworth Park, Ascot, Berkshire. 

Zara Phillips meanwhile took part in the Gatcombe Horse Trials where she rode dressage for a panel of judges in a 'guinea pig' trial, which is designed to help them mark the riders. Also attending the event was Princess Anne.

Princess Margarita of Romania and Prince Radu planted an oak in the Royal Săvârșin Park in honour of the birth of Prince George of Cambridge. The British Ambassador to Romania, Martin Harris, and his family were also present. The tree was called "Oak Prince George".
