Prince Charles (Duke of Rothesay) visited Thurso in Caithness.  He visited Reids Bakery at 3 High Street

Afterwards he visited the Coronation Meadow at Burn of Midsands (Greenland Links) in his capacity as Patron of Plantlife International, 5 August 2013. The meadow is located near Dunnet Bay, a two-mile beach on the northern coastline, which is home to rare plants and the most northerly population of bumblebees and blue butterflies in the UK. Links of Greenland Corornation Meadow, Burn of Midsands as part of the Coronation Meadows initiative.

Princess Anne accompanied by Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence visited the Isle of Wight.  She opened the new Mattinson headquarters and training centre at Corf Campsite, Shalfleet, Newport. 

She later visited, with her husband, the offices of Cowes Week Ltd at Regatta House in Cowes, and visited John Cheverton Centre at Earl Mountbatten Hospice, Cowes. 

Princess Anne then visited the Classic Boat Museum in East Cowes, where she met Olympic medallist sailor Shirley Robertson.

In the evening they attended the 175th anniversary dinner at the Royal London Yacht Club, the Parade, Cowes.

Meanwhile Zara Phillips attended the Smiths Lawn Horse Trials in Windsor.


It was also announced that Princess Beatrice is to become the patron of the Theatre Royal in York.
